Laurin General Contractors and Grinnell Marine approached MCON in August 2019 to produce and supply a precast concrete Stone Strong retaining wall at 471 Terry Fox Drive.
With the City of Ottawa’s approval and Paterson Group’s design, MCON was able to work with Grinnell in the spring of 2020 to successfully complete this project.
For roughly 155 metres, the wall impressively retains the soil from the backyards of the existing homes above. The wall is 493 square metres in size and was built using 370 Stone Strong blocks.
The wall, which now sits behind the Shell Gas Station on Terry Fox, blends in beautifully with the adjacent Stone Strong walls utilised in Uniform’s Richardson Ridge Communities.
