MCON was honoured to welcome Mayor Mark Sutcliffe to our facility for a tour and a conversation about the future of Ottawa. The visit gave us an opportunity to show the Mayor a little more of what happens behind the scenes at MCON and the work that goes into manufacturing the precast concrete products that support communities across the region. During his visit, Mayor Sutcliffe also presented MCON with a plaque recognizing our 35th anniversary—a meaningful milestone for a company that has spent decades contributing to Ottawa’s growth.
The conversation went beyond our facility and focused on some of the opportunities and challenges that come with a growing city. We discussed Ottawa’s economic outlook, the importance of continued investment in roads, utilities, transportation, and other critical infrastructure, and the role local businesses and manufacturers play in supporting that growth. We also shared our perspective on how creating an environment that encourages development, and investment can help Ottawa remain competitive while giving communities the infrastructure they need to thrive.
As a locally owned and operated manufacturer, MCON has seen firsthand how much Ottawa has changed and grown over the years. For more than three decades, we’ve had the opportunity to contribute to projects that help connect communities, support development, and provide the infrastructure people rely on every day. We’re proud of the role we’ve played in Ottawa’s growth so far and look forward to continuing to work alongside our customers, partners, and community to help build its future.
