Job Overview
General laborers reporting to their Supervisor are responsible for aiding in all areas of the precast concrete plant and production processes. They are responsible for collecting materials, assembling cages, setting up forms and concrete placing. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive oral or written instructions to determine work assignments.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, crouching, and handling of materials
  • Assembly, position and dismantle concrete forms.
  • Bending, tying, and placing reinforcing steel for precast concrete structures
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
  • Mix, place and spread of concrete materials
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers
  • May assist with minor repairs and maintenance
  • Clean and remove excess debris from forms, equipment, or facility
  • Participate in daily pre-production meetings
  • Complete field level risk assessments before beginning each task
  • Operate various hand and power tools, machines and other equipment as directed
  • Perform other tasks related to production, cleaning, and housekeeping as required.
  • Able to preform duties both indoors and outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

  • Prior experience in a precast setting or working with concrete is considered an asset

Overview:

We have an immediate opening for an AZ Truck Driver with Boom Experience.

The Truck Driver will report to the Dispatcher and will be responsible for strapping loaded trailers, delivering finished goods to job sites, and assisting with product yard storage.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment (trucks, trailers, and booms), paperwork, and loaded product
  • Maintaining daily manual and/or electronic driving logs
  • Drive to destinations as outlined in the manifest in a safe, responsible, manner and in compliance with all laws and transportation regulations
  • Notifying Dispatch of any route changes, time delays, and non-delivered orders
  • Checking-in with customers at each designated job
  • Finding solutions to possible challenges with the assistance of Dispatch
  • Unloading and delivering a product to an assigned area within the jobsite, as directed by the Customer
  • Submitting Customer payments and paperwork to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Follow proper load securement practice (chains and straps)
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, showing pride in the organization and equipment.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma, preferred
  • Valid Ontario Class AZ License or Quebec/Canadian Equivalent
  • Safe driving record

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience operating an AZ certified truck/trailer and equipment with flat bed and/or float load, heavy haul, tractor-trailer experience is a must (2+ years preferred)
  • Boom Experience is considered an asset (training will be provided)

Form Maintenance Technician

Overview:

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead Hand, this position will focus on maintenance of the production equipment such as hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, sensors, vibrators, and concrete forming equipment in our plant facility. A welding background is required with having a mechanic / mechanical background being an asset. You are also responsible for general housekeeping and other shared duties in and around the facility. Safe work culture is encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and adhere to lockout and tagout program and procedures.
  • Set-up and maintenance of production related equipment
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts.
  • Fabricate parts if required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
  • Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
  • Adjust machinery and equipment, as necessary.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine preventative maintenance work equipment.
  • Perform regular testing to ensure safe working order of all machinery.
  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedure and requirements.
  • Ensure safety devices are operating properly including on completion of repair.
  • Keep your tools clean and orderly.
  • Keep a clean and environmentally safe work area.
  • Maintain a log and follow directions as instructed.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High-School Diploma
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in any of these fields: Millwright, Welder, or Mechanic. Equivalent work experience would also be considered.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3 Years relevant work experience in a similar or equivalent role
  • Welding experience required.
  • Experience with cranes and forklifts is an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of control systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical.

Overview:

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Health and Safety Manager is primarily responsibility for leading and managing the Health and Safety department while leading the Company’s safety initiative. Development of a safety and risk management culture dedicated to being “best in class”. Assures the health and safety program is designed to comply with current Industry Regulations. The Health and Safety Manager also ensures the company is moving forward to meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops a high performance, internal customer-oriented work team, through hiring, motivating, coaching, appraising and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Leads development of and clearly articulates Company’s safety vision, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures to build a safety culture dedicated to behaviors which lead to best-inclass results.
  • Lead and/or participate, monitor, and report on H&S strategic objectives
  • Provides proactive leadership and assumes ownership of building a best-in-class safety culture by
    • anticipating problems & providing solutions,
    • sharing knowledge with, and providing training, to all levels of management, field staff and project teams,through interactions with clients, subcontractors, and inspectors, and
    • creating an environment of learning, mentoring, and empowerment to promote employee engagement.
  • Ensuring that the organization meets all agreed health and safety legislation and objectives and that appropriate risk mitigation/control measures are in place.

Key Responsibilities (con’t):

  • Conduct regular touch points with ELT, Managers, Supervisors and Lead Hands to ensure safety issues are being supported and/or addressed by Safety.
  • Responsible for all accidents, injuries, incidents and spill reporting from the site to the appropriate government agency and within the company.
  • Assist in employee compliance and regulatory standards (Transportation of Dangerous Goods, etc.…)
  • Manage work-related injuries and near misses – We want to make sure everyone that comes to work returns home the same (or better) at the end of the day. For this role, we need firsthand experience in investigations for accidents and near-miss occurrences, analyzing injury trends, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Lead/Manage all WSIB worker compensation programs and Return to Work Programs, and other related insurance documentation.
  • Work with operational staff to develop, implement and enforce organizational Safety Operating Procedures
  • Inform the company of trends through Safety Alerts.
  • Manage/deliver employee orientations, onboarding and training requirements, from a H&S perspective
  • Conduct site inspections of all facilities.
  • Frequent site visits to projects
  • Always keeps the company’s best interests in mind.
  • Employee Management:
    • Responsible for the growth and professional development of all members of the Safety Team
    • Oversees hiring and succession management for the department.
    • Maintain/Update safety files, employee records and training databases

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Occasionally attends meetings with the City of Ottawa, MTO, MLTSD and other clients regarding

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of proven success leading and managing a Health and Safety Program in an Industrial
    manufacturing industry.

    interacting with employees at all levels.

Overview:
We seek an experienced Project Manager to lead projects and coordinate communication between the engineering, design, and production teams, ensuring effective information flow. This role will manage complex or custom projects and provide guidance to Project Coordinators and BIM/CAD Technicians throughout all production phases. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project coordinators, BIM/CAD technicians, engineers, estimating and production teams, to ensure accurate, on-time, customer-focused delivery.
  • Lead multiple projects from award through design, approvals, procurement, production, and delivery, serving as the primary customer contact.
  • Mentor project coordinators and support process improvements within the engineering team.
  • Maintain accurate CRM/ERP project documentation and perform material quantity take-offs.
  • Ensure designs meet standards and all engineering work is accurate. (MH Pro/Inventor)
  • Coordinate specialty hardware approvals/purchasing and assist with estimating and cost reviews.
  • Prepare shop drawings as needed and communicate with contractors, engineers, and sales reps on project status and inquiries.
  • Conduct job-site visits when required and lead complex/custom projects, including supporting custom proposal development.
  • Contribute to fabrication detailing, maintain standard drawing libraries, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma, preferably in Engineering or Construction Engineering Technician program.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

Years of experience:

  • 2+ Years in a project manager position in a similar industry/environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific Experience:

  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, prepare working drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing project schedules and contributing to the development of engineering specifications and drawings.
  • 3D Computer aided engineering, AutoCAD, MS Excel.
