As Carleton Place continues to grow, so does the need for reliable infrastructure. The Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard extension and McEachen Drive project is helping prepare the community for future residential and commercial development. To support the project, MCON supplied a range of precast concrete products, including box culverts, catch basins, maintenance holes, and Stone Strong retaining walls—delivering durable, high-quality solutions that allow for faster installation and reduced site disruption compared to traditional cast-in-place construction.

One of the project’s highlights was the production of three custom box culvert runs:

  • 1200 x 900 mm – 18 standard pieces and 3 custom pieces
  • 3600 x 1500 mm – 20 standard pieces and 7 custom pieces
  • 3300 x 1800 mm (twin run) – 34 standard pieces and 6 custom pieces

With over 35 additional precast structures, including maintenance holes, and catch basins, MCON manufactured and shipped approximately 85 truckloads of precast products for the project. Production of the three culvert runs alone took approximately four months, with the larger 300 mm wall sections carefully scheduled at a production rate of one pour per day to maintain quality standards.

By supplying a complete range of precast infrastructure products, MCON helped streamline construction while providing reliable, durable solutions designed for decades of service. From stormwater management to retaining walls that combine structural performance with an attractive finish, every product plays an important role in supporting the Town of Carleton Place’s long-term vision.

Projects like Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard demonstrate how precast concrete helps municipalities build smarter, faster, and more efficiently—creating the infrastructure communities need today while preparing for the growth of tomorrow.
