Nestled on the shore of White Lake in Frontenac, Ontario, this stunning residential project needed more than just a typical retaining wall — it required a carefully engineered solution that would protect an upper-level pool from shifting or settling toward the water over time. The homeowner was looking for an aesthetically pleasing yet incredibly strong wall system that could handle the unique site conditions right at the water’s edge. With its unmatched strength and versatility, Stone Strong was the perfect fit.
At 1,242 square feet and built directly on waterfront terrain, this wall had to support not only the earth behind it but also the significant load of a full in-ground pool on the upper pad. The proximity to the lake made the foundation especially critical. To ensure stability and safety, the bottom row of blocks was filled with concrete and reinforced with dowel rebar — an important modification to handle the bearing weight and minimize any long-term movement. While this made the installation more complex, our team’s expertise and the adaptable nature of Stone Strong allowed the contractor to complete the wall with confidence.
